SIR PRIZE STARRED IN THE WALT DISNEY MOVIE, EIGHT BELOW AS DEWEY!!!

UPDATE: Sir Prize has been retired from our breeding program, and is staying with us as our beloved pet, just like his father. We will be using him one last time, in order to keep a female pup out of him to continue his lines.

Sir Prize is the son of Mystic & Cherikee. He has a ton of champions on his pedigree. On his mothers side if you go back far enough, he even has a American Canadian Mexican Champion! He produces show quality puppies who have wonderful personalities. He is a half brother to Justice, Memory, Flame, Dusty, and Chase.

When Walt Disney called us in the fall of 2004, we were ecstatic. Within 2 weeks, we had a trainer from Birds & Animals Unlimited (The animal trainers for Walt Disney) come out to look at our dogs. They picked 8 of them and took them to a local restaurant called the Oakhurst Tearoom and worked with each dog for about 20 minutes on long leads to see how they reacted with other people and unfamiliar surroundings. After we were done, they said "We'll be in touch." I said to my husband, Dale, "We'll never hear back from them. Out of all the kennels in the United States, why would they pick one that's so far back in the county like us?".

Two weeks later, we received a phone call. They said "We want Mojo and Sir Prize." They also called another local kennel, Ravenwood. Out of her all her Siberians, they picked two as well. Both were born at my kennel. Their names are Chase (who is actually Sir Prize's half brother) and Dakota. Dakota now belongs to Hero's Huskies.

Our dogs boarded a plane at the Pittsburg International Airport and flew out to California, where they stayed until they could be cleared for flight up to Van Couver, in British Columbia. They also flew to Greenland to do some of the scenes.

Since Eight Below came out, Mojo & Sir Prize have been driving all over Pennsylvania & some of Maryland to "Meet & greet their fans". They have been to movie theaters, pet shops, grooming shops, schools, and a preschool once.

Want to know about Sir Prize before he became a star? We had seen Mystic breeding Cherikee, but she didn't look like she was getting any bigger, so we figured we'd just let her in with him until she came into heat again. One day we went down to feed, water, and clean pens and guess what?! Cherikee had a little puppy snuggled up with her! Mystic was laying over in the other corner of the pen and looked like he was saying "Ha! See? I told you not to doubt me!" Cherikee must have been carrying Sir Prize up under her ribs and we couldn't see her getting any bigger, because she wasn't. We expected her to have more, but Sir Prize was the only pup in the litter. We fell in love with the little guy, and decided to keep him. Since his birth was a surprise, Laura said "Why not name him Sir Prize?" The name just stuck. Sizzlin was added because of his coloring.

The 3rd from the far right is Sir Prize a.k.a. Dewey! He is actually standing behind Mojo a.k.a Truman.
